Kia ora whānau
There are only two more weeks left of this school term and it is so great to see nearly all of our students and staff at school and keeping well! We continue to be safe in and around our classroom to ensure everyone feels comfortable every day in Kākano.
Easter
We have some special learning happening for the children to help them prepare for Holy Week next week. Firstly they will be told the Palm Sunday story and we will have a sort of donkey parade to celebrate this. We will also be talking about The Last Supper, the Washing of the Feet, and the Stations of the Cross.
It is important to teach all of our tamariki about what the week leading up to Easter Sunday is really about. This video could be very helpful to show your children and help you remember what HOLY WEEK is about and why it is important that we recognise and celebrate the days leading up to Easter Sunday.
Swimming
Kākano 7 are not swimming this week.
Library
Library day is Friday.
House Tug of War
On Friday we will be having our annual Tug of War competition. Please can
your child bring clothes to school on Friday to change into their house colours
in the afternoon. I will let all parents know which house their child is in and
what colour clothes they will need to bring for the afternoon.
The week ahead:
Monday - gymnastics in the hall (bring shorts)
Tuesday - normal school day
Wednesday - normal school day
Thursday - normal school day
Friday - sausage sizzle and juicy day $1.50 each, house tug of war
(wear your uniform to school but bring house colours to school to
change into for the afternoon) roller skating club (bring roller skates.
Library day - bring your books back to change.
We look forward to seeing everyone this week!
